A Different Game

Usually when I hit the trails in the smokies it's to see how far and how fast I can go. This past weekend the objective was to simply make it from A to B without caving in and going home or developing hypothermia. With nighttime temperatures near zero, this was not always an easy game. Winter backpacking can be hard fun sometimes, but the solitude and scenery winter offers makes it all worth it.

    1. Thanks matt. It was a refreshing trip. I'd been to all these places before, but had never seen them like this. We're lucky to have mountains out our doorstep!
